IntelloDesk CRM, Your thoughts?
We have been bouncing back and forth over the new version of IntelloDesk for some time. Now we’re turning to more customer feedback for the final decision to be made.
Afterall, it is the customers that will be using the software, and as such it is the customers that will make or break the software.
So what have we been debating?
Quite simply put, we’ve been debating moving the staff and administration ends of IntelloDesk, into a desktop environment, rather than a web environment.
This has a few advantages:
- It’s more secure. If your admin and staff panels aren’t online, they cannot be tampered with in the same ways an online panel can be.
- It adds the ability for more power and control over the application as a whole.
- It’s easier and faster to implement than standard web based applications
- It allows for easier integration into other avidInteractive applications to improve functionality, etc
The downside
There is also a downside. Doing this means that each staff member and administrator will need to install the software on their own machines (although we can work around licensing). Considering the advantages compared to the single disadvantage, porting IntelloDesk to a desktop model seems to be a good way to go.
This is why we’re going with customer feedback on this. We want to know what your opinions are. We want to know if you can think of more advantages, disadvantages, etc.

A good idea can be to make a staff-side page in php to do a basic work stuff online without need to download the page.
I.E - Answer Tickets, add articles to KB, etc..
And a most powerfull tool as a desktop enviroment.

Other suggestion I just had is to have 2 themes. One like the default you showed a few months ago, an another one who can be integrable to our sites (like WHMCS).
Thank you Nahuel. This is what we’ve been waiting for. We want the people who use our products to get involved in the final creation of the software. It does us no good to release software that our clients ultimately can’t use effectively or efficiently.
In fact, you can expect more of this process with all of our products. It helps us deliver the product features our clients want and need.
Your suggestion has been noted. Once all suggestions have been compiled, we will make a list of all of the suggestions that are feasible for a more immediate release, as well as the suggestions that may need to wait for an update. Ultimately this will allow us to list a final feature list for customers so that they’ll know what is included, what isn’t included, and what will be included.
