Once you have added a Server Group to ServeraSuite, the next thing you'll want to do is add a
Port Monitor to the group. Port Monitors are as they sound...ports on your server that you wish
ServeraSuite to monitor.
Servera allows you to choose from standard ports (HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP3, and MySQL), and
also allows you to create custom ports to monitor.
Again ServeraSuite has a few methods to get started adding ports to your Server Groups.
Figure 2.1
You will notice that when you select your Server Group, a few of the icons above, become active.
The one we're concerned about, with adding ports, is the traffic light icon as shown in Figure 2.1
You can also Right-Click on your server group, as shown below.
Again, no matter which you choose, Servera will open the following window.
- Choose the Server Group from the pulldown list,
that you wish to add the port monitor to.
The one you chose from the tree menu on the main screen, should already be
highlighted.
- You will only need to enter a Monitor Name
if you are choose a "Custom" Port Type. If
you choose a standard port type, the monitor name will be filled in for you, along with the
default port number for that port type.
- Press the Add Monitor button, and the
Port Monitor will be added under your server
group, in the Server Groups list.
